Pharmacology is a branch of medicine that deals with the scientific study of effect of drugs and chemicals on living system to treat, to prevent, or to diagnose a disease. It involves the study of origin, composition, therapeutic effects and toxicological effects of a drug. The goal of the department of pharmacology is to provide the students with a comprehensive knowledge regarding drugs, including the action, dose and adverse drug reactions. In addition to this, pharmacology department is highly passionate to contribute in the field of drug research and development.

Department laboratories are well arranged and well equipped with instruments such as sophisticated Convulsiometer, Pole climbing apparatus, Plethysmometer, Analgesiometer, Rota-rod apparatus, Actophotometer, student’s organ bath and assembly, Kymographs and Sherrington’s drum.
